ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION: Tom Goodson believes that Florida needs to pass its own laws to crack down on illegal immigration, just as Arizona has done. It's basic common sense to give state and local law enforcement additional tools to help enforce the immigration laws already on the books. When the rule of law is undermined and disrespected, we all suffer. And since the federal government won't do its job, Tom Goodson believes it's time for Florida to lead

ECONOMY: Jobs and wealth creation depend on developing a well-educated workforce and on fostering a diversified, flexible economy. Tom will build on his successful experience leading the Canaveral Port Authority to help create the conditions for economic growth in our state.

TAXES: Now more than ever, government needs to avoid tax increases and leave money in the hands of those who earn it, US THE TAX PAYER!

REGULATION: Florida competes with other states and other nations as a place to locate businesses. Tom will work hard to make Florida a state that is conducive to free enterprise and job creation.

EDUCATION: Florida's schools have made great strides over the last decade, but there is tremendous room for improvement, particularly in our high schools. Tom will fight for accountability, for high standards, and for focusing our spending on those things that produce the best results in the classroom.

CRIME: Every year there are legislators who propose to allow criminals to leave jail early. Tom will vigorously oppose such measures, which would only lead to communities that are less safe.

FREEDOM AND VALUES: Tom strongly supports the individual right to bear arms. He also believes that the government should respect the principle of personal responsibility, promote the sanctity of life and uphold marriage as the union that it has always been known to be.

ENVIRONMENT: Tom supports common sense environmental policies that protect our state's natural beauty while also recognizing the reality of our state's need for diverse and affordable sources of energy. This is no time for expensive, feel-good energy schemes like cap-and-trade, which impose substantial costs on everyone without doing anything to meaningfully improve the environment.
